Arabian animals refer to the various animals that are represented in the pre Islamic mythology of the Middle Eastern region and its many sub genres. Prior to Islam the Kaaba of Mecca was covered in symbols representing a myriad of demons, djinn, demigods, or simply tribal gods and other assorted deities. These represented the polytheistic culture of Arabia and a prevalent system of folklore and myths.

Arabs have some of the most colourful and diverse stories and legends in the world involving animals and fantastical beasts which have been passed down from generation to generation. Some of these animals are considered pure myths and in some cases even blasphemous, while others hold hints that they actually happened.
