Like all Native American tribes and mythology, communication with the gods require the help of a shaman and the worship itself has a lot of rituals and traditional practices. The Gods in Navajo mythology tend to be associated with natural phenomenon and greatly influenced the daily life of the Navajo people.

Many of the gods and the pantheon are influenced by other Native American tribes and their belief systems.
